Launching January 8, 2012

52 Weeks Of Artwork is a year long quest, where I will be creating a brand new painting every week. Each completed work will be posted on Sunday, and include commentary that details the work and its challenges and/or amusements. In addition, each month I will be choosing a specific theme to work under, such as birds, castles, viewer’s choice, etc. This exciting event will begin on January 8, 2012, and end on December 30, 2012. Let me tell you why I’m doing this, what’s in it for you, and how you can get involved.

I’ll be honest. I’ve done a lot of things in my life that were wonderful to start, but when they got too hard, I quit. This is my active commitment to dig deeper; to do the work to get to the other side. When 2012 is over, I fully expect to be a better painter, and to hone in closer on my artistic vision. My second reason for 52 Weeks Of Artwork is to connect more authentically with my friends and fans. Over the years I’ve had a handful of people tell me I’m a hard person to get to know. God is opening my eyes to the truth of that. This project is one way of me showing you myself.

So what’s in it for you? If you’re anything like me, I know you’re asking that question. Let me first say you are a very important part of this journey. Without anyone beside me, cheering me on or pushing me further, I tend to get very discouraged. In the year to come, I’ll be giving you these paintings and their descriptions as a point of escape from every day life. In them I hope you’ll find nuggets of truth for yourself as well. Additionally, I will be offering a special discount to followers of the blog, as well as a viewer’s choice month, where you’ll help me choose the theme. Fun announcements will be told throughout the year, and you never know what the time may bring.

There are two ways to get involved with 52 Weeks Of Artwork. Signing up as a follower of the blog is what I recommend. You can also “like” my Facebook page for random information, but it won’t provide the up close involvement the blog will. Make sure to follow 52 Weeks Of Artwork, as I have two blogs currently.

Finally, I want to say that I will be working hard to weave my true story into this project. My life has been full of rapid twists and turns, and I think you’ll find enjoyment in hearing about them through artwork. As you watch me struggle, press through and progress, I hope you’ll find courage as well to move through the brokenness and see new possibilities for yourself.
